Our Story
In March of 1994, three friends reunited in Manila, Philippines. Steve Murrell, who was living in Manila, had founded and was pastoring Victory Church. Rice Broocks and Phil Bonasso were on their way to Singapore and Malaysia to help with two new church-planting opportunities, and they called Steve to stay with him during their layover in Manila.
That stay became known as the “Miracle in Manila,” as their reunion turned into a recognition that God was calling them to do something great together.
1994-1999
1994 – The Beginning:
God joined the founding generation together to form Morning Star International, with the purpose to honor God and advance his kingdom through church planting, campus ministry, and world missions.
Every Nation Holds
its first international conference with pastors, campus missionaries, leaders, and church members from around the world (Morning Star International at the time).
Nations & Territories reached
1995 – Training:
The first class of the School of World Missions graduates in Manila. This school was launched to train missionaries and pastors to be effective in cross-cultural ministry.

After reaching out to Chinese college students, Every Nation plants its first church in China.

2000-2004
2000 – Nations & Territories Reached:
Iran, New Zealand, Poland, Vietnam, and Zambia. Churches in South Africa joined Every Nation (then Morning Star International).
2001 – Nations & Territories Reached:
Churches in Hawaii joined Every Nation.
2002 – Nations & Territories Reached:
2003 – Training:
Construction of the Every Nation Building in Manila is finished, making it possible to train more leaders in sharing the gospel.

Morning Star International changes its name to Every Nation Churches & Ministries, with the vision to “reach every nation in our generation.”
The Mission Statement Becomes:
We exist to honor God by planting Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, socially responsible churches and campus ministries in every nation.

The first Go Conference happens in the United States, emphasizing our call to “go!”

Every Nation Music launches with the hope to produce music that will remind future generations of who God is, who we are, and what we are called to do.

The Every Nation Leadership 215 base-level training program launched to better equip and ordain ministers for preaching and ministerial leadership.

Every Nation Music releases its first internationally collaborated, live album Doxology.

The Go Conference is hosted in South Africa for the first time!

The first global Prayer, Fasting, and Consecration Week brings Every Nation churches together to humble ourselves before God, consecrate ourselves to him for the upcoming year, and corporately agree for breakthroughs.
